In a Nutshell

Founded in 2012, Polymath Ventures is a venture group that creates businesses from scratch, to scale massively across emerging markets. We take a hands-on approach, producing our own deal flow, attracting high potential entrepreneurs and providing extensive operational support to our companies throughout their lifecycle. To date, Polymath operates 6 startups (1 in stealth mode to be launched in 2019). 

We are looking for a a team to build our Strategy & Operations - Talent division in Bogotá, Colombia. We are looking for different levels of seniority, which will mostly define the weight of operational vs strategic tasks. In general, we are looking for people with a unique blend of strategic thinking, interpersonal skills, analytical horsepower and a strong can-do attitude. You will work directly with venture founders and senior Polymath staff to understand current and future talent needs and design, build and execute innovative experiments and strategies to attract and engage top international talent. This is a central division with high-exposure to all ventures and business areas, and is absolutely crucial for Polymath Venture’s ambitious growth plans. 

Once here, you will

  • Develop trust-based relationships with multiple stakeholders inside and outside the Polymath group
  • Collaborate with venture founders, Polymath business leaders and partners to understand current and future talent needs 
  • Create job specifications, scorecards and other supporting documentation, in collaboration with hiring managers
  • Fully own the hiring strategy and execution for strategic positions - defining, designing and implementing agile recruitment initiatives to ensure hiring targets are met
  • Manage business leaders’ expectations, setting priorities and negotiating when needed
  • Thoroughly assess sourced candidates on specific qualifications and KPIs 
  • Ensure a healthy candidate pipeline, always up-to-date and on-track to exceed our people growth targets
  • Manage end-to-end candidate experience (from first contact to hiring) - Fostering trust-based relationships with them and gaining a close understanding of their value, requirements and concerns
  • Create and present performance and quality of hiring pipelines to main key stakeholders and share learnings and best practices to constantly improve recruiting process with the Talent Team
  • Develop framework and metrics that facilitate rigorous evaluation of our hiring process and talent acquisition initiatives
  • Automate reporting tasks
  • Mine actionable insights from (qualitative and quantitative) talent data and develop testable hypotheses
  • Recommend and drive improvements to enhance and scale the Polymath recruiting practice

What we are looking for

On the formal side of things, you will have:

  • A Bachelor degree 
  • At least 3 years of prior experience in a high-growth startup environment, but we will consider candidates with less or a different experience if they meet other requirements 
  • Stellar stakeholder management and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Fluency in English and Spanish 
  • Demonstrated track record of building relationships with cross-functional business teams at all seniority levels
  • Calm under pressure and ability to deal with ambiguity - A high level of emotional intelligence is a big deal for us
  • High attention to detail and the capacity to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment; excellent time management and organizational skills are a must
  • Have a burning desire to apply data-driven solutions to tackle real-world problems related to talent
  • Curious and always trying to find new, improved solutions in everything you start
  • Ability to present data and its implications in a clear, concise manner
  • Collaborative mindset, willing to share and contribute your experience and positive can-do attitude with the team and organisation
  • Availability to work full-time in Bogotá, Colombia 

To set yourself apart, you will bring:

  • Experience working in a global market (sourcing national and international talent for various countries)
  • Proven experience finding, attracting and closing passive senior and/or tech talent in a highly dynamic environment
  • Previous experience using Greenhouse, and the willingness of experimenting with new tech tools to optimize our processes 
  • Strong Excel skills  

On top of that, we are looking for:
